Structural Engineering

Building Structures

Since establishing the business in 1996, the design of building structures has been our primary focus, providing sympathetic, economical and practical engineering solutions to Architects, Developers, Design and Build Contractors and individual Clients alike.

The projects undertaken range from small scale residential alterations through to industrial, commercial, new build and refurbishment contracts.

The co-ordination and seamless integration of the building’s structure in to the Architectural envelope is key to providing a successful design solution for our Clients.

We aim to provide cost effective and beneficial engineering design from conceptual modelling through to the detailed construction stage on site and practical completion. Our Engineers and Technicians engage with the latest 3D engineering and draughting software allowing a fully collaborative approach with the wider Design Team, sharing information to improve efficiency and assisting with long term maintenance strategies.


Bellamy Wallace Partnership has been designing light gauge steel structures since 1996 for Steel Frame Solutions (SFS).  SFS supply stand-alone light gauge steel and hybrid structures, formed using ‘stick built’ fully engineered cold formed sections.  The bespoke design approach combines the lightweight benefits of the cold formed sections when designing floors, roofs and load bearing walls with the higher load carrying capacities of hot rolled sections that provide transfer elements and stability cores.

BWP and SFS have worked in conjunction with London Southbank and Greenwich Universities to carry out research into light gauge steel design.  The aim of the research is to optimise the design for our growing portfolio of large and complex light gauge steel frames.

Temporary Works & Construction Engineering

From past experience, we lend great emphasis on that of Construction Engineering; the clear coordination & collaboration of each sequence throughout the build process, incorporating both Temporary & Permanent Works solutions, helping to keep programme dates achievable in respect of both a theoretical, detailed design approach and that of a pragmatic view with regards to buildability issues.

Our Temporary Works cover all structures & situations, from enabling works for large scale Projects such as the Savoy Hotel refurbishment, to scaffold bracing, working platform design, Category 3 checks in line with the latest Eurocode requirement


Civil Engineering


Our Civil Engineering team carry out all types of highway design including small residential developments to major road design for large commercial and residential developments.

We work closely with developers and the Highway Authorities to undertake S38 and S278 adoptions using 3D modelling to create highway alignments, long sections and setting information.


Our drainage team undertake both large and small scale below ground drainage design projects for all types of schemes, both residential and commercial including SuDS elements, providing drainage strategy reports for support of planning applications through to detailed design. We offer a service that includes all stages of design development through to construction using Microdrainage software. 

Designs are carried out in accordance local government guidance including the National Planning Policy Framework Directive, the London Plan and LLFA (Local Lead Flood Authority) requirements. 

Our team are experienced in offering drainage systems to service providers for adoption under S104 and can provide a service for adoption of existing drainage under a S102. We can carry out Pre-planning enquiries, S185 diversions, S98 sewer acquisition  and S106 connection agreements. We co-ordinate our designs with any highway alignment to ensure a complete service can be offered to our clients. 


Our Team has over 30 years of experience in 3-Dimensional digital ground modelling using PDS. The services offered include Highway design, Cut and Fill calculations from 3D Terrain models for all aspects of earthworks. Detailed site modelling for proposed developments including cut and fill calculations to determine excess material. 

Along side our ground modelling we can provide Isopachtye contour drawings to show areas of Cut and Fill and detailed surface modelling with falls to show the layout of a site for surface water design.


A key role we play is providing elements of planning support from pre-planning drainage strategies in support of a planning application, to advice on what SuDS elements would be suitable for a development based on geology and hydro-geology through to discharge of planning conditions in respect of Surface Water disposal. Pollution control is vital when looking at a drainage scheme and is reviewed at an early stage of design development. 

Building Surveying

Insurance Claims

Our Building Surveying input is in relation to all aspects of building insurance claims.

We work closely with a number of Loss Adjusters and major Insurance Companies covering subsidence & heave problems, vehicle impact damage, flood, fire and water/oil loss claims throughout the UK.

Our services include investigation, mitigation where appropriate, remediation design, including scheduling of reinstatement works and Contract Administration.

Defects Investigation

Investigations are undertaken in respect of all building defects.

Our services also include defect reporting for New Build warranty providers, such as Premier Guarantee and Local Authoruty Building Control (LABC).

Party Wall

Our Party Wall surveying services, include formal Service of Notice through to project completion; we offer initial advice in respect of The Party Wall Act and how it applies to specific circumstances, through to compiling a Schedule of Conditions and Party Wall awards.

Building Surveys

Detailed surveys are undertaken for all aspects of the building’s fabric; this may be for the purpose of pre-purchase, defect reporting or insurance investigations.

Contract Administration

All types of building contracts are administered, including JCT Minor and Intermediate Works and drafting of Works Schedules for Tender documentation for all aspects of building projects.

Our services also include staged development valuations undertaken for release of funds in resepct of proposed Works.
