Two residential sites in Maidstone town centre:

• Union Street – A development of town houses and two apartment blocks.

Load bearing masonry buildings of three and four storeys, with timber frames to the top level to both the houses and the apartment block.

Underground drainage was challenging due to the sloping site and complex ground conditions.  The design included attenuation storage and a deep bore soakaway.

• Brunswick Street – A development of town houses, an apartment block and a public carpark.

Load bearing masonry buildings of three and four storey.  Due to the sloping site, one of the apartment blocks also had a part-basement with car parking.  Constructed in concrete with a podium slab to support the masonry structure above.  Due to the proximity of the basement to the adjacent road, approval from Kent Highways was obtained.
